WOMEN IN FILM, LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCES THE 2010 CRYSTAL + LUCY AWARDS® HONOREES:

DONNA LANGLEY, COURTENEY COX, ZOЁ SALDANA, LISA CHOLODENKO AND CYNTHIA PUSHECK

The Annual Benefit Gala will take place Tuesday, June 1 at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel

Los Angeles, CA…Since 1977, Women In Film, Los Angeles (WIF, LA) has honored some of the most creative, dynamic and socially responsible individuals in the entertainment industry, those who lead by example. This year’s Crystal + Lucy Awards®, a gala fundraising dinner in support of WIF, LA and its many educational and philanthropic programs, is being held on Tuesday, June 1 in the Los Angeles Ballroom of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel.

Today, WIF, LA President, Jane Fleming, proudly announced the 2010 honorees:

Los Angeles….Realizing its commitment to support emerging talent in the television and digital media industries - as promised when the committee was first formed in September 2009 - the Women In Film TV & Media Committee has officially launched three outreach programs, one each in association with ABC, MTV and TNT/TBS, and is currently offering applications online at www.wif.org.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (Park City, UT – January 24, 2010) … Women In Film Los Angeles, the leading non-profit organization dedicated to women in the global entertainment industry, hosts its fourth annual filmmakers panel discussion at the Sundance Film Festival.  This year’s panel, “Choosing Artistic Freedom: How Singular Vision Can Lead to Heroic Filmmaking” features select female filmmakers with both narrative and documentary films at the festival. Women In Film is proud to include two very special award presentations during the annual event, the first with support from the National Geographic All Roads Film Project.

The Women In Film/National Geographic All Roads Film Grant has been established to recognize and award a deserving female documentarian in the Sundance Film Festival Program.  Women In Film and National Geographic are pleased to announce the inaugural recipient(s) of this grant:  director Jennifer Arnold and producer/director of photography Patti Lee.  They will receive $5,000 prize for their work on A Small Act, which is in the feature-length documentary competition at this year’s festival.

For the second consecutive year, The Incentives Office joins Women In Film to present the Women In Film/The Incentives Office Grant to a female director in the Sundance Film Festival Shorts Program.  A jury of WIF educators, filmmakers and artists has chosen filmmaker J.J. Adler as the 2010 recipient for her work on New Media.  With this grant, Adler takes home $5,000 from The Incentives Office and Women In Film, 5,000 feet of motion picture film stock from Eastman Kodak and 5,000 feet of development and HD Dailies from Technicolor.  Dama Claire, filmmaker and Production Executive at The Incentives Office joins Lucy Webb, WIF Sundance Chair and moderator of today’s panel for this very special presentation.
