On June 11, 2008 Women In Film was honored to host a lunch for Chen Jin Ti, the head of Children's Television at Central Television in Beijing, China. Before becoming a producer, Chen was one of the first documentary camerawomen in China, trained by Mao Tse Tung's Minister of Culture in 1949 as part of the New China.
Chen Jin Ti attended with her interpreter Mei Wu. On hand to welcome her were WIF President Jane Fleming, Executive Director Gayle Nachlis, Membership Administrator Einat Temkin, WIF International Committee co-chair Gabrielle Kelly. Also in attendance were filmmaker Mei Juin Chen, and Dr. Alexis Krasilovsky, Prof. of Cinema Studies at Cal State Northridge and director of "Women behind the Camera", a documentary about women cinematographers from around the world. Chen Jin Ti was one of the female cinematographers featured in the documentary.
